Send receipts by WhatsApp or email

Photograph a receipt and send it to Netto on WhatsApp, or forward bills to your own Netto email address.

Checked against the app on 3 November 2026

You don't have to open Netto for every receipt. Send it on WhatsApp, or forward the email it came in.

WhatsApp and the email address are part of the Starter and Pro plans, and of the free trial.

Connect WhatsApp

  1. Go to Settings → Receipts in and press Connect WhatsApp. You can also do this as the last step when you first set up Netto.
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone, or press Open in WhatsApp if you're already on your phone. WhatsApp opens with a code ready: just press send.
  3. The code works for 10 minutes. The page updates by itself once you're connected.

Netto only answers the phone number you connected.

Send a receipt on WhatsApp

  1. Take a photo of the receipt, or send the PDF, to Netto in WhatsApp.
  2. Netto reads it and replies with the supplier, the amount, the kind of cost and the VAT.
  3. Something wrong? Just say it, for example "it's 9%" or "category is travel". Netto shows the corrected version.
  4. Tap Save to book it, or Discard.

A receipt saved this way is booked as paid. When the payment shows up in your bank lines, Netto matches it to this cost.

No receipt, but you know what you spent? Type it, for example "45 train to Rotterdam". Netto shows it with Save and Discard too.

Ask Netto on WhatsApp

You can also ask questions ("Who still owes me?", "How much VAT this quarter?") or ask for an invoice to be drafted, by typing or with a voice note. Netto never sends, reminds or marks anything paid without asking: you get Confirm and Cancel buttons first.

Your own email address for bills

Many bills arrive by email. You can forward them to an address that's yours alone:

  1. Go to Settings → Receipts in → Email-in inbox. Choose your address (the part before the @) and press Create address. Netto suggests Add a random code at the end, so nobody can guess it.
  2. Press Copy address. Forward bills to it by hand, set up a rule in Gmail or Outlook that forwards mail with words like "invoice", or give it to suppliers as your billing email. Send a test bill checks that it works.
  3. Forwarded bills appear under Inbox. Netto reads them and says whether each one is ready to book or needs a look. An email with several attachments becomes several items.
  4. Open one, check it, and press Approve to book it as a cost, or Reject to throw it away.

Netto reads PDFs and photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC) up to 10 MB. If a supplier sends a link instead of a file, Netto tells you: open the link, download the bill and forward that.

If the address ever ends up in the wrong hands, type a new one and press Save new address. The old one stops working at once, so update your forwarding rules.
