Set up your business
The three setup steps, how your invoice numbers work, and where to change your details later.
When you first sign in, Netto asks for your business details in three short steps. It takes a few minutes, and you can change everything later in Settings.
Step 1: your business
- Type your company name or KvK number in the search box. Netto looks you up in the KvK register and fills in your name, address and KvK number.
- Can't find yourself, or not registered yet? Choose Enter my details myself: continue with ….
- Fill in your VAT ID. It looks like NL123456789B01. Netto checks it in VIES, the EU's VAT number register, as soon as you leave the field.
- Tick I'm registered under KOR if you use the small business scheme. Netto then leaves VAT off your invoices.
- Press Continue.
If VIES says "Not found in VIES", check the number for typos. You can still continue: new numbers sometimes take a while to show up in VIES.
Netto's income tax estimate assumes you run an eenmanszaak (sole proprietorship). If the KvK register says you have a BV or VOF, Netto warns you about this.
Step 2: your invoicing
Fill in your IBAN, address, postcode and city. These go on your invoices. Then choose your Default payment terms (Immediate, 14 days or 30 days) and your Default VAT rate (21% or 9%). Press Continue: this creates your business.
Step 3: WhatsApp (optional)
You can connect WhatsApp to send receipts to Netto from your phone, or choose Skip for now.
How your invoice numbers work
Your first invoice is numbered 2026-0001: the year and a running number. Each calendar year starts again at 0001. Numbers have no gaps and are never reused, because the Belastingdienst requires a continuous series. A number is only given when an invoice is sent, so drafts never use one up.
Coming from another tool?
Open Switch to Netto and go to the Outstanding invoices step. Enter the running number of the last invoice you sent this year and press Continue from here. Netto shows the number your next invoice will get.
Changing your details later
Open Settings from the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar:
- Business details: name, address, KvK number and VAT ID, the email address for invoices, the IBAN on your invoices and your logo. Refresh from KvK picks up changes from the register. Press Save changes when you're done.
- Invoices: your invoice template, payment terms and numbering.
- VAT: your VAT settings and the KOR.
Everything outside Business details is saved as you change it.
