Send a quote and turn it into an invoice
Send a client a price before the work starts, let them accept it online, and invoice it in one click.
A quote is a price you offer a client before you start the work. It is not an invoice: nothing is owed and nothing goes into your books or your VAT until it becomes an invoice.
Write the quote
- Go to Quotes and press New quote. You can also use Create → New quote in the sidebar.
- Pick the client, then fill in the lines the same way as on an invoice: a description, how many, the price and the VAT rate.
- Check the Quote date and Valid until: the last day your client can say yes to this price.
- Press Save quote.
Quotes get their own numbers, for example QUO-2026-001. They don't use up invoice numbers.
Send it
Open the quote and press Send to customer. Your client gets an email with the quote as a PDF and a button to view it online. Is there no email address for the client yet? Netto asks for it, saves it on the contact and sends the quote straight away.
Copy client link gives you the same online page, for example to send it in a chat.
Your client says yes or no
On the online page your client can:
- accept the quote: they type their name, can sign with their finger or mouse, and tick that they agree, or
- decline it, with a reason if they want to give one.
You see the answer on the quote, with their name and signature. Netto also shows when your client opened it.
Did your client answer by phone or email? Press Mark accepted or Mark declined yourself. Changed your mind about an accepted quote? Not accepted after all puts it back to waiting.
After the Valid until date the quote shows as Lapsed, and your client can no longer accept it online.
Turn it into an invoice
When a quote is accepted, press Convert to invoice. Netto makes a draft invoice with the same client and lines, dated today. Check it and send it as usual. The quote then shows as Invoiced, with a link to the invoice.
The Quotes page
The top shows what is Out with clients and which quotes run out within a week. The tabs split them into drafts, out, accepted, declined, lapsed and invoiced.
